Overcoming The Five Dysfunctions: Build Strong Team
Recommended for teams who want to strengthen collaboration, trust, and collective performance.
What it’s about:
Based on the model developed by Patrick Lencioni, this workshop helps teams diagnose and address the five most common dysfunctions that undermine team effectiveness. The model identifies a set of interrelated challenges that teams must overcome to achieve high performance:
- Absence of Trust – Team members are unwilling to be vulnerable, admit mistakes, or ask for help, which limits openness and collaboration; team members do not feel safe sharing their thoughts or feelings.
- Fear of Conflict – Teams avoid productive debate and disagreement, leading to artificial harmony and unresolved issues; additionally, team members are unwilling to call out inappropriate behavior.
- Lack of Commitment – Without open discussion, teams struggle to fully commit to decisions and shared goals.
- Avoidance of Accountability – Team members hesitate to hold each other responsible for agreed standards and behaviors.
- Inattention to Results – Individual priorities or departmental goals take precedence over collective team outcomes.
By the end of the workshop, the participants will be able to:
- Identify and address interpersonal dysfunctions that impact team performance.
- Improve team communication to facilitate working on shared objectives.
- Align team efforts around a common thematic or strategic goal.
- Create accountability to deliver collective results.
